Naturehike Cloud Up 1 vs 2

Naturehike Cloud Up 1 vs 2

We are discussing a really popular tent today – the Cloud Up from Naturehike. There’s a 1, 2 and 3 person Cloud Up available and today we are covering the 1 and 2 person versions. What’s the difference between the Naturehike Cloud Up 1 and the Naturehike Cloud Up 2? Well, let’s find out. This article is not a review – it’s a Naturehike Cloud Up 1 vs 2 spec comparison. Let’s dive straight in.

Naturehike Cloud Up 1 vs 2

As is often the case with Naturehike (and other similar brands), this is where things can get a little perplexing, should we say. Naturehike have different specs for different colours and even different names for the same colours on different listings. There are some tents now which also say “upgrade” too, so there are some models knocking around that are upgraded. Sounds confusing? It is. It would be fine if it was explained clearly and each listing was consistent, but sadly that’s not the case. Rarely will the details on the Naturehike website agree with what’s on sites such as Amazon. There’s always loads of listings and they all have conflicting information.

However, bear with us – we’ve been banging our head on the desk so you don’t have to, and we’ll do our best to clarify what’s what (based on the information we can find). You’ll struggle to find a tent with a better spec for the price, so hang in there and check out the following info.

This info is compiled on a best effort basis. Always check carefully before you buy. We do not guarantee the information/data we have given is correct and cannot be held responsible for incorrect information. Always do your own spec checks before making a purchase.

Naturehike Cloud Up 1

Naturehike Cloud Up 1

Version / Colours:

210T version:
Green
Orange

20D version:
Grey
Green. Various shades of green seem to be available, some of which look remarkably alike! Shades we’ve seen listed include light green, (just) green, forest green, olive green, mustard green and even a wasabi green. There doesn’t seem to be an apple green or a grass green but hopefully they’ll launch those soon. Anyway, your best bet is to just choose the colour you like the look of and ignore the random naming convention.

Dimensions:
Porch 65cm (25.6”)
Sleeping area: 230cm (90.6”)
Width: 110cm (43.3”) – 80cm (31.5”)
Height: 100cm (39.4”)

Naturehike don’t specify the length, width and height of the outer and then the length, width and height of the inner. So you have to guess whether the given dimensions refer to the outer or the inner. This probably doesn’t really matter if you’re average height, but if you’re tall, this information really matters.

Version / Colours:

210T version:
Green
Orange

20D version:
Grey
Green. Again, various shades of green seem to be available, some of which look remarkably alike. The same thing we said earlier applies here too – your best bet is to just choose the colour you like the look of and ignore the random naming.

There’s a 10D version on Amazon too, but we are not including that as the details are not on Naturehike’s website at all yet.

Naturehike Cloud Up 2 inner

Dimensions:
Porch 60cm (23.6”)
Sleeping area: 210cm (82.7”)
Width: 125cm (49.2”) – tapering towards the foot-end (foot-end dimension is possibly 105cm (41.3”))
Height: 100cm (39.4”)

Again, you’ll have to guess whether the given dimensions refer to the outer or the inner. The sizes on the Naturehike website do not match the sizes on the Naturehike Amazon page.

Naturehike Cloud Up 2 dimensions

Weight:
20D version: about 1.8kg
210T version: about 2.1kg

Fabric:
20D version:
Outer: 20D silicone nylon PU
Inner: B3 mesh
Inner floor: 20D nylon silicone PU

210T version:
Outer: 210T polyester PU
Inner: B3 mesh
Inner floor: 150D oxford cloth PU

Waterproof:
20D version: Outer: 4000mm HH, Inner floor: 4000mm HH
210T version: Outer: 3000mm HH, Inner floor: 3000mm HH

It’s interesting how the outer fabric on the 20D version of the 2 person tent is the same as the 1 person tent, yet the 2 person tent is more waterproof, according to the data on the Naturehike website.

Poles:
All versions use 7001 Aluminium alloy

Pack size:
40cm (15.7”) x 13cm (5.1”)

So that’s our Naturehike Cloud Up 1 vs 2 spec comparison. As you’d expect, the Cloud Up 2 is a bit bigger and a bit heavier than the Cloud Up 1. It’s quite difficult to compare everything accurately because there is so much conflicting information, even on Naturehike’s own website. However, the Naturehike Cloud Up seems to be a really popular tent that is much loved by many a wild-camper and backpacker, so it’s certainly worth checking out – it has a great spec for the price.

There’s also a Cloud Up 3, but we’ll come to that another day. If you can’t wait, you can check out the price and spec of that tent on the ‘CHECK PRICE’ links above.
